What thread insert types do you offer for aluminum frames?
We offer three types: (1) press-fit knurled stainless steel inserts for tube-wall mounting points, (2) helical wire thread inserts for repairing or reinforcing tapped holes, and (3) weld-in stainless bosses for pre-weld integration. All are manufactured in A2-70 or A4-70 stainless steel with knurling optimized for AL6061/7005 alloy hardness.
How do you prevent galvanic corrosion between steel fasteners and aluminum frames?
We use a three-layer approach: (1) zinc-nickel or Dacromet coating on all steel fasteners that contact aluminum, (2) pre-applied anti-seize compound on threads, and (3) material pairing guidance — matching stainless grade to specific aluminum alloy to minimize the galvanic potential difference.
