Bicycle Fastener Materials, Made to Your Drawing

PremFixer sources and CNC-machines 304, 316, and 316L stainless steel, 7075-T6 aluminum, and TC2 or TC4 titanium for OEM bicycle fasteners and frame hardware. Your drawing and BOM define the material, geometry, finish, and order requirements.

For high-end and full-suspension MTB programs, our engineering and production teams review material, interfaces, and records against the released part package.

Material Families for Drawing-Controlled Hardware

Material is selected by part role and approved project documentation. Need another grade? Include it in your drawing or RFQ for review.

304, 316, and 316L Stainless Steel

Specify 304, 316, or 316L stainless steel in the drawing or BOM. For CNC-turned bolts, axles, spacers, and frame hardware, the RFQ records round-bar grade, condition, dimensions, finish, and heat or lot evidence.

7075-T6 Aluminum

Specify 7075-T6 bar stock, machining allowance, bearing or shoulder interfaces, and finish in the RFQ. The specified temper stays attached to the part through review and production.

TC2 and TC4 Titanium

We source and machine TC2 and TC4 titanium to the specified grade, condition, and product form. Confirm thread and bearing interfaces, finish, and material evidence in the drawing, BOM, or purchase order.

Material Records for the Approved Order

The examples below show the document types used in a drawing-controlled material review.

Records are representative. Each order defines the grade, temper or condition, standard, heat or lot, and certificate scope.

Material Review Checklist

Bring the material decision into the same engineering conversation as geometry, interfaces, manufacturing, and acceptance.

A useful review starts with the released geometry and the actual assembly. Note whether the fastener carries a bearing, clamp, pivot, or retention function; identify mating materials and service exposure; then state finish, lubrication, locking, and inspection requirements. This keeps material, machining, and acceptance criteria aligned.

Drawing & BOM

Share the current revision, part role, assembly location, and whether the request covers one fastener or a coordinated pivot-hardware BOM.

Grade & Bar Stock

Confirm the named grade, condition or temper, round-bar route or other product form, machining allowance, dimensions, and traceability needs.

Review manufacturing equipment

Interfaces & Finish

Review threads, bearing seats, contact pairs, passivation or coating, lubrication, locking requirements, and service access as one assembly question.

Review surface treatment

Acceptance & Quantity

Define prototype or production quantity, critical dimensions, inspection records, packaging, release criteria, and any required material certificate.

Review quality standards

Raw-material standards in the review

Reference families may include ASTM A276/A276M for stainless steel bar; ASTM B211/B211M for rolled or cold-finished aluminum bar and rod; ASTM B221/B221M for extruded aluminum bar and rod; ASTM B348/B348M for titanium bar or billet; GB/T 2965 for titanium alloy bars; and GB/T 3620.1 for titanium designation or composition. These references describe raw material and do not, by themselves, define a finished fastener standard.
