Review the brake hardware with its mating faces and assembly context, from the mounting datum to the installed fastener.

Mounting faces

Identify contact surfaces, datums and the positional relationship to the frame or fork.

Threaded features

Define thread specification, engagement, shoulder geometry and the required installation access.

Caliper & rotor context

Provide the brake-interface drawing and relevant caliper and rotor information for the intended assembly.

Finish & joining

Include coating allowance and the specified frame attachment or joining process where relevant.

Identify the intended interface and provide its controlling drawing. Do not select a configuration from its name or appearance alone.

Dimensions, assembly and tightening

Use the customer drawing and applicable brake-manufacturer assembly instructions to define tolerances, installation and tightening criteria for the joint.

Inspection, finish and quotation inputs

Identify critical geometry, finish requirements, initial quantity and required inspection records. Include any environmental or corrosion requirement as a project specification.
